Imago Dei di Tengah Datakrasi Gerejawi: Model Teologis-Kritis Data-Informed, Spirit-Led Church dalam Tata Kelola Pelayanan

Sri Darajad Suaji

Abstract

Abstract

Digitalization and data-driven decision-making present a new theological challenge for the church. Data can strengthen ministerial accountability, yet it may also become a rival authority when metrics, algorithms, and quantitative indicators determine the meaning of ecclesial success. This article employs a qualitative-descriptive approach with theological-critical analysis of literature on datacracy, datafication, algorithmic governance, metric fixation, digital church practices, and Christian ethics. The study argues that the main issue is not the use of data itself, but the shift of data from a diagnostic tool into a quasi-sovereign authority within ecclesial discernment. This article proposes a data-informed, Spirit-led church model, an ecclesial paradigm that treats data as testimony to be interpreted rather than a verdict to be obeyed. The model emphasizes human dignity as imago Dei, communal discernment, ethical data governance, and accountability before Christ amid metric-driven ministry.
